By examining social media and the power of the internet, students get deeper insight into the technology platforms that influence their behavior and success.  They’re also introduced to the concept of using these tools to stay informed. Major news outlets use Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to engage the public. The class utilizes the same strategy by allowing students to use the platforms to gather information and discuss the outcome in a classroom setting.  Students get the opportunity to share some of the personal experiences that they’ve had on social media and how it has affected their lives.
